Attacks were launched in Gaza after a piece of construction equipment ran over an explosive device inside the Yellow Line, an area controlled by the Israeli army.
The Israeli army said the device exploded when a D9 bulldozer ran over it and that no one was injured in the incident. The army also alleged that Hamas had explicitly violated the ceasefire agreement and said it had carried out attacks on infrastructure in Gaza that it claimed was being used by Hamas.
It could not be determined whether the explosive device had been planted before or after the ceasefire took effect. Hamas has made no statement بشأن the incident.
The Yellow Line’s location in Gaza
The Yellow Line is defined as the boundary separating areas in eastern Gaza under the control of the Israeli army from the western part where Palestinians are permitted to remain.
Israeli army attacks in Gaza have continued since the ceasefire, targeting civilians and residential areas, while demolition operations have also continued and the Yellow Line has gradually been extended westward.
Casualties since the ceasefire
Since the ceasefire took effect in Gaza on October 10, 2025, Israeli army attacks have killed 1,394 Palestinians and injured 4,839 others.
The attacks launched by Israel on Gaza in October 2023 killed approximately 74,000 Palestinians and injured approximately 175,000 others.
