A poll released ahead of Israel's general elections planned for October 27 projects that the opposition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar Party could win 54 seats in the 120-seat Knesset.
The poll projects 50 seats for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's governing bloc and 16 seats in total for parties unaffiliated with any political bloc.
Yashar Party leads the field
The poll projection puts the Yashar Party in first place as the largest party, with 23 seats, while Netanyahu's Likud Party is projected to win 20.

Naftali Bennett's Together Party is expected to win 13 seats, while nine seats each are projected for the Democrats, led by Yair Golan, and Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu party.
Seat distribution in Netanyahu's bloc
Within Netanyahu's bloc, United Torah Judaism is projected to receive eight seats and Shas seven. Six seats are projected for National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's Jewish Power Party and five for the Religious Zionism Party.

The United Arab List is projected to win five seats, while Yesh Atid, Amha Yisrael and Blue and White are each expected to win four.
At least 61 seats needed for a Knesset majority
Thirty-eight lists have registered for the upcoming Knesset elections, and 13 are expected to cross the electoral threshold and enter parliament.

Forming a government in Israel requires the support of at least 61 lawmakers in the 120-seat Knesset. Netanyahu has led the current government since late December 2022.
Netanyahu faces corruption charges. The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
