In the village of Burka east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers reportedly set a vehicle on fire and attempted to burn down the Al-Nur Mosque.
According to Palestinian officials, the attack occurred on Sunday evening when a group of settlers entered the village targeting vehicles and the place of worship.
Local sources reported that a vehicle parked near the mosque was set ablaze, causing material damage.
The head of the Burka Village Council stated that the settlers broke the mosque’s doors and set fire to the entrance area. According to the same statement, the aim was to completely burn down the building.
Villagers extinguished the flames using their own means. The fire was brought under control before it spread inside the building, and the attackers fled the area.
Shortly before this incident, a similar event occurred in the town of Deir Dibwan east of Ramallah, where two vehicles were set on fire and two others were damaged.
These incidents in the area are considered part of increasing attacks targeting Palestinian residents and their properties.
