Israeli settlers have continued violent actions in the north of the occupied West Bank. In the town of Ariba, south of the city of Jenin, they demolished a small barn belonging to the Rahal family and released their livestock into the family's home garden.
Attack on Activists in Nablus
Incidents also continued in the village of Qaryut, south of the city of Nablus. Palestinians, along with foreign and Israeli activists who entered a house previously seized by settlers, removed Israeli flags hung on the building and a poster containing drawings related to the 'Jewish Temple'.
However, approximately five minutes after the activists entered the house, settlers who arrived at the area assaulted those inside and forced them to leave.
Israeli Military Intervened
Israeli military units that later arrived at the scene removed everyone from the area near the house and prevented Palestinians and activists from remaining on site.
In recent months, there has been an increase in settler attacks in villages and towns south of Nablus, including the seizure of Palestinian-owned land and properties, and assaults on citizens and their homes. Palestinian authorities allege that the Israeli military provides protection to settlers during these attacks.
Rising Violence in the West Bank
As a result of violent actions by the Israeli military and settlers in the West Bank since October 8, 2023, 1,169 Palestinians have been killed, 12,666 injured. Additionally, approximately 23,000 people have been detained and 33,000 displaced.
