Jordanian government spokesman Mohammed al-Momani said the airstrikes carried out by the kingdom on Monday against several sites in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria, killed more than 20 ISIS members and destroyed a major weapons depot, according to preliminary findings.
Al-Momani said Jordan’s patience had “run out” over the activities of terrorist groups. He stressed that Amman had avoided striking sites where intelligence indicated civilians were present and expressed regret over civilian casualties.

Meanwhile, Syria’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the strikes, saying they were carried out “without prior coordination with Damascus” and describing them as an “unacceptable violation” of Syrian airspace and sovereignty. Syrian authorities said seven people were killed and others injured.
The two countries agreed to form a joint committee to review the operation and strengthen coordination in confronting the group. Al-Momani linked the security threats to the recent attack targeting St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Karak Governorate, which killed nine people.
