Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump, has opposed the war with Iran from the outset and has told his father so directly, but he has not voiced his objections publicly, The Atlantic reported.
According to sources cited by the magazine, his opposition dates back to the start of the war, when the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran on Feb. 28. A person close to Trump Jr. said he would never publicly break with his father on an issue like this.
In 2024, as Iran launched an attack on Israel, Trump Jr. praised his father for avoiding war with Iran, writing: “Remember when they said Trump would get us into a full-blown war with Iran?”

The White House did not directly address the reported opposition. An official said Iran had been “decimated” and that the conflict with Iran “will be over very soon,” one way or the other.
The report comes as several prominent Trump supporters, including commentator Tucker Carlson, accuse the president of abandoning the anti-war promises at the heart of the America First movement.
