The fifth round of direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel began on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, according to a report by the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) citing Anadolu Agency.
The talks are being held at the headquarters of the U.S. State Department. This round is said to cover both security and political issues.
The U.S. State Department announced last Friday that the new round of direct Lebanon-Israel negotiations would take place in Washington from June 23 to 25.
No detailed information has yet been shared regarding the agenda or participants of the talks, according to Anadolu Agency.
As the negotiations continue, it was reported that the Israeli regime violated the ceasefire by attacking some civilian areas in southern Lebanon, resulting in deaths and injuries among civilians.
