The development of military cooperation between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates was discussed during the closing session of a Joint Military Committee meeting held in Rabat.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mohammed Bureyz, Inspector General of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, and Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. The talks were held as part of the committee’s third meeting.
Areas of cooperation
According to the Moroccan army, the meeting, held on Monday and Tuesday, concluded with positive outcomes covering wide-ranging activities in various strategic areas.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation achieved in capacity building, defense industries, training, and the exchange of experience and expertise. The two countries also reaffirmed their commitment to consolidating and advancing military cooperation.
Agreements underpinning cooperation
Military relations between the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces and the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces are being maintained on the basis of a shared vision. This cooperation is based on the first military agreement signed in 1980 and was further strengthened by a framework agreement signed in May 2006.
Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei is on an official visit to Morocco at the head of a delegation. As part of the visit, Al Mazrouei will also attend the Marrakech International Airshow, scheduled to take place in Marrakech from October 7 to 10, 2026.
