More than 1700 archaeological artifacts dating back to before the era of Caliph Uthman have been discovered in Saudi Arabia. Among the findings are samples containing Quranic verses and a rock inscription bearing the name of Caliph Umar.
The Saudi Heritage Authority stated that the discoveries shed light on the early period of Islam and the historical heritage of the Arabian Peninsula.
It was noted that the discoveries also include early Islamic texts. These archaeological finds stand out as examples that collectively reflect the region's writing tradition and religious heritage.
