Pakistan reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its commitment under the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement after an attack targeted Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar condemned the attack in the strongest terms. Dar wished a speedy recovery to the injured, including six Pakistani nationals.
Dar said targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure was unacceptable, adding that such actions violated international law and posed a serious threat to regional peace and security.

Emphasis on solidarity in the Islamic world
Dar said Pakistan stood in solidarity with the Saudi government and people. He stated that Pakistan would continue to uphold its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security under the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also strongly condemned the attack. Sharif extended his condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

13 people killed
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said 13 people were killed and 309 injured in the attack on King Khalid International Airport on October 10.
As clashes between government forces and the Houthis in Yemen have intensified recently, the Iran-backed Houthis, claiming that attacks had been carried out against them, are targeting Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
