Piraeus Port in Athens, the capital of Greece, was the scene of a protest by supporters of Palestine on Friday. Demonstrators protested Israeli tourists who arrived at the port aboard a cruise ship.
The demonstration was organized at the call of Greek civil society organizations supporting Palestine. Protesters chanted slogans calling for freedom for Palestine and protested the attacks in Gaza.
Demonstrators carried banners reading “Stop the genocide in Gaza” and “Freedom for Palestine.” A large Palestinian flag was also unfurled during the protest.
During the protest, police escorted the Israeli tourists off the ship. They were then put on buses to be taken to their scheduled stops in the city.
