About 300 sheep were seized, a main pipeline supplying water to hundreds of Palestinians was cut and various properties were damaged in attacks in the occupied West Bank on Saturday evening.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said the incidents took place in the governorates of Ramallah and al-Bireh, Hebron, Nablus and Bethlehem. According to the commission's records, six attacks took place in Ramallah and al-Bireh, three each in Hebron and Nablus, and two in Bethlehem.
Hundreds of Palestinians left without water in Hebron
The cutting of the main pipeline carrying water to the village of al-Duqaiqa in the Yatta area of Hebron governorate left around 700 Palestinians without water services. The commission also said that an agricultural chamber in the governorate was set on fire.
The commission said a family was also attacked in the Khallet al-Humus area of Hebron. The family was forced to move the tent they had erected over the rubble of their demolished home in search of a safer location and had to leave the area.
Homes targeted in Ramallah and al-Bireh
Houses belonging to Palestinians were fired upon in the village of al-Mughayyir, residents were attacked with tear gas and an ambulance was damaged. The commission also said that a Palestinian was beaten, an olive harvest was stolen and about 300 sheep were seized from the al-Hayyan area of the town of Deir Dibwan.
Attacks in Nablus and Bethlehem
In Nablus, settlers were seen moving among Palestinian-owned homes in the town of al-Lubban al-Sharkiya, while equipment located on land belonging to the village of al-Naqura was stolen.
In Bethlehem's Za'tara village, shepherds were chased away, animals were released onto Palestinian-owned land and groups gathered near homes in the Wadi Abu Njeim area.
628 attacks in the West Bank in August
According to the commission's data, Israeli settlers carried out 628 attacks in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in August.
Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, described Israelis involved in acts of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank in August as "terrorists." Huckabee warned that these actions were seriously damaging Israel's image.
Fourteen United Nations special rapporteurs also warned in June that the sharp increase in what they described as "settler terrorism" in the occupied Palestinian territories, with the support and complicity of the Israeli state, posed an existential threat to Palestinian communities.
It is estimated that around 750,000 Israeli settlers live in 156 illegal settlements and 360 outposts in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
