Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered strong messages about the Gaza Strip in his address to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He described what is happening in the territory as "genocide" and called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities toward the Palestinians.
Sheikh Tamim said Israeli leaders had begun presenting the removal of Gaza's residents from their land as a solution to the crisis. He criticized the portrayal of Palestinian displacement as "migration," reaffirming his rejection of attempts to push the territory's residents to leave their land.
Qatar's emir said that what is happening in Gaza does not concern Palestinians alone, but represents a humanitarian issue that extends beyond the region. He described the ongoing tragedy in the territory as "a stain on the conscience of humanity."

Sheikh Tamim stressed that the region is going through one of its most dangerous phases amid ongoing wars and tensions and growing risks threatening regional security and stability. He added that the current crisis resulted from years of accumulated temporary solutions and a failure to address the roots of the conflict.
"What is happening in Gaza is genocide"
Speaking from the UN platform, Qatar's emir stressed that what is happening in Gaza constitutes "genocide in every sense of the word." He said the continuation of the war and humanitarian suffering places the international community under an obligation to work to de-escalate the situation and protect civilians.

He also said that the Palestinian cause requires a just and lasting political solution, noting that ignoring the rights of the Palestinian people would not bring stability to the region. He stressed the need to address the underlying causes of the conflict rather than settling for temporary solutions.
Qatar continues to play a role in mediation efforts and diplomatic initiatives related to Gaza. Doha also reaffirms its rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and calls for a political solution that preserves the rights of the Palestinian people.
