Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, described the US blockade and sanctions against Iran as economic warfare and said Iran would respond in the Persian Gulf.
In a social media post, Rezaei announced that a maritime exclusion zone was being planned along the Persian Gulf, extending to the blockade line. The Iranian official said Tehran had also fundamentally changed its operational approach toward US forces and military bases in the region.
Rezaei also said that an explicit warning had been sent to Washington in recent days through new Iranian missiles.

Ghalibaf calls for response to oil sales
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf said there would be a forceful response to oil sales in the region over US attempts to prevent Iranian oil exports.
Ghalibaf said that if Iran could not sell oil, no one would be able to sell oil in the region. Rezaei had previously said that if neighboring countries supported the US economic war against Iran, Tehran would close the Persian Gulf as it would the Strait of Hormuz and would not allow a single drop of oil to pass through the region.
