Syrian and Jordanian interior ministers held a meeting in the capital Damascus to deepen security cooperation. Syrian Interior Minister Enes Hattab and Jordanian Interior Minister Mazin al-Faraya discussed ways to enhance security coordination between the two countries and issues of common interest.
A statement from the Syrian Interior Ministry said the parties discussed ways to strengthen security cooperation and coordination between the two ministries in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples and supports the foundations of security and stability.
This security meeting in Damascus came immediately after the second session of the Syrian-Jordanian High Coordination Council held in Amman last April. At that council, about 10 agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed in more than 21 sectors covering energy, water, education and many areas of public life.
