Speaking at a joint press conference in Syria's capital, Damascus, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani said Israel was continuing its attacks on Syria.
Al-Shaibani said Israel had made clear its intention to make the occupation permanent. The Syrian foreign minister said this approach undermined the justification that security was needed.
147 people detained in Syria
Al-Shaibani said 65 violations had been recorded in July and 52 in the first 18 days of August. He said 147 people had been detained since the beginning of the year and that 49 remained in detention.
Al-Shaibani said raids on homes in Quneitra were also continuing and assessed Israel's actions against Syria.
Danish Institute to resume operations
Al-Shaibani highlighted Denmark's contribution, noting its leading role in humanitarian initiatives while conflict continued in Syria. He said it was important for the Danish Refugee Council to continue its work in the country.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said the meeting addressed ways to develop economic cooperation between the two countries and assess investment opportunities for Danish companies in Syria.
Rasmussen said preparations would be made for a partnership agreement that would establish the framework for future cooperation. He also said the Danish Institute in Damascus would resume operations shortly.
Support plan for agriculture and voluntary returns
Pointing to Denmark's experience in agriculture, Rasmussen said Syria had the potential to become the region's "food basket." He said Copenhagen was ready to provide support in this area.
Denmark has prepared plans to support Syrians who wish to return voluntarily to their country. Rasmussen said they aimed to establish a comprehensive Syria-Denmark partnership covering the economy and security.
