U.S. President Donald Trump described the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement signed by Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as an important step for the Middle East.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social account on Sunday, Trump said he was “very pleased” that the agreement had been signed.

Trump said the agreement showed that Middle Eastern countries had come together and noted that countries in the region could defend themselves more meaningfully. Congratulating the leaders of the three countries, Trump described the agreement as “a major, bold and important first step.”
