During the meeting in Ankara, cooperation opportunities in the defense industry between Turkey and Egypt and ways to develop joint capabilities were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a letter of intent that will determine the framework of cooperation.
In a social media post, President of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün stated that he believes the cooperation to be developed in the defense industry between Turkey and Egypt will contribute to strengthening regional security and enhancing mutual capabilities.
Görgün thanked Egyptian Defense Minister Ashraf Salim Zahir and his accompanying delegation for the productive talks.
Meanwhile, earlier the same day, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler also met with his Egyptian counterpart and a goodwill letter for bilateral cooperation in the defense field was signed between the two countries.
The Egyptian army announced on Sunday that Minister Zahir had departed for Turkey with a military delegation and would hold talks aimed at supporting military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
