Turkey condoles over deadly accident during Arbaeen pilgrimage in Iraq
Turkey's Foreign Ministry issued a condolence message for those killed in a traffic accident during the Arbaeen march in Basra, Iraq. At least 10 people died and 12 were injured.
Turkey offered condolences for a traffic accident during a religious march in Iraq that caused multiple fatalities. The Foreign Ministry said in a written statement that it learned with great sorrow of the accident in the Harise area of Basra.
The statement wished Allah's mercy upon those killed in the accident, which involved a crowd walking toward Karbala for the Arbaeen commemoration. It also wished patience for their families and a speedy recovery for the injured.
The accident occurred early Thursday when a driver lost control of the vehicle and struck people walking along the roadside. At least 10 people lost their lives and 12 others were injured.
