Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, addressing the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 26, called for “bringing the Palestinian question back onto the right track of the two-state solution at an early date.”
Han urged “advancing governance in the West Bank and post-conflict reconstruction in Gaza in line with the principle of Palestinians governing Palestine,” and said the sovereignty and security of Middle Eastern countries, including Gulf states, should be respected.
In a reference to the US-Iran war, he said: “We should settle differences and disputes through dialogue and consultation, and oppose unilateral military actions that violate the UN Charter and circumvent Security Council authorization.” He also called for international industrial and supply chains to be kept stable and unimpeded.
