Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received the foreign ministers who came to Türkiye on Friday to attend the quadrilateral meeting and the expanded meeting with European countries at the Presidential Office in Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul.
The meeting was attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, along with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
Erdoğan shook hands with the ministers one by one before posing for a group photograph. No details of the meeting were disclosed.

First expanded meeting
Earlier in the day, the ministers met in Istanbul under Fidan’s chairmanship, first in the quadrilateral format comprising Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan, and then, for the first time, in an expanded format with Britain, Germany and France, with Italy also participating. They discussed the Palestinian issue, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, developments related to Yemen and ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Following the meetings, Fidan said that military intervention against Iran was not a solution and that the Strait of Hormuz should be opened immediately.
