The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye and Pakistan said in a joint statement issued Friday after the quartet met in Istanbul, chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, that the Israeli occupation is the primary source of instability in the region and beyond, and that Israeli policies are deepening the sense of injustice around the world.
A Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital

The ministers called for the urgent implementation of a two-state solution in accordance with United Nations resolutions, guaranteeing the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent, sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. They called for an immediate halt to Israeli violence and attempts to alter Jerusalem's legal and historical status.
The statement condemned all past and present settlement activities in the West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as settler violence against Palestinians, and stressed the need for the continued flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza and its reconstruction.
Yemen and the Strait of Hormuz
The ministers strongly condemned the Houthi escalation, particularly the continuing attacks on Saudi Arabia and the targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb. They expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government and called on the Houthis to immediately halt all military operations and return to the political process in good faith.
They also called for the dispute between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other to be resolved exclusively through dialogue and diplomacy. They rejected any measures that obstruct legitimate navigation, called for the resumption of safe and unhindered passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and agreed to continue consultations and close coordination.
