Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, outlined the conditions Tehran has set for potentially launching a new negotiating process with the United States.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Rezaei said Qatar and Pakistan were continuing their diplomatic efforts between the two sides, noting that Iran’s conditions had been conveyed to Washington through Qatar.
Iran’s conditions for negotiations with the United States
According to Rezaei’s statements, Tehran’s demands include the release of frozen Iranian assets, an end to the war on all fronts, non-interference in Iran’s internal affairs, an end to cooperation with groups opposed to the Iranian government, a halt to attacks on Iranian territory and the lifting of the naval blockade.
Rezaei explained that Washington must accept and implement these conditions before negotiations between the two sides begin.
The conditions were conveyed to Washington through Qatar
The Iranian official said contacts with Qatar were continuing and that Tehran’s demands had been conveyed to the U.S. administration through Doha.
Rezaei added that Iran was awaiting U.S. President Donald Trump’s response to the conditions it had presented.
Tehran says it is prepared to continue the war

Alongside discussing the diplomatic track, Rezaei sent a message about continuing the military confrontation, stressing that Iran was prepared to continue the war if the United States did not accept the proposed conditions.
He also said that Tehran had strengthened its military preparations and developed its capabilities to confront U.S. naval forces in the region.
At the same time, mediation efforts led by Qatar and Pakistan are continuing in an effort to find common ground for resuming negotiations between Iran and the United States.
