Iran's Revolutionary Guards responded to the US attack on residential areas on Qeshm Island. On Thursday morning, the IRGC Aerospace Force carried out a ballistic missile strike on the al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, the Guards announced.
According to a written statement from the IRGC Public Relations Office, the targets were parking areas and maintenance hangars for US F-35 fighter jets. The statement claimed that 3 F-35s were completely destroyed, 3 others heavily damaged, and many US officers and maintenance personnel were killed.
The IRGC described the strike as retaliation for an earlier incident. The statement said the US had attacked residential areas on Qeshm Island with bunker-buster bombs, targeting a family. It said the father, mother and one child were killed, and two other children were wounded.
The IRGC also issued a message to the people of Jordan. The message thanked the 'outspoken stances of the country's distinguished segments' and their support. The statement stressed that the struggle against US forces would continue 'until the last American occupier is expelled from Islamic lands.'
