The Haifa Prosecutor’s Office indicted two minors over allegations that they communicated with a foreign agent who allegedly worked for Iran and carried out tasks in exchange for money.
The indictment alleges that the minors filmed strategic sites, wrote graffiti in the Kiryat Motzkin area and tried to recruit other children for similar tasks.
Activities described in the indictment
According to the indictment, one of the minors contacted a person who introduced himself as “Daniel” on Telegram while looking for work in June 2026. Although this person was suspected of being a foreign agent working for Iran, the two minors allegedly carried out some tasks together.
One of the minors allegedly filmed shopping malls in Herzliya and Tel Aviv. The indictment says the minor provided information about the entrances and exits of one of the malls, as well as the number of security guards.
The indictment also alleges that the two minors wrote graffiti in Kiryat Motzkin, filmed the graffiti and sent the images to the person. They allegedly received thousands of shekels and cryptocurrency in return for their activities.
The allegations also include an attempt by one of the minors to open a new Telegram channel and recruit other children capable of carrying out high-risk tasks.
Charges against the minors
According to the indictment, one of the minors was charged with communicating with a foreign agent, transmitting information to the enemy and damaging property. The indictment reportedly includes three separate charges of transmitting information against this minor.
The other minor was charged with helping establish communication with a foreign agent and damaging property.
The investigation allegedly began when one of the minors was detained upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. No information was provided about the date of the detention.
Israeli media also reported allegations that numerous Israelis had been involved in espionage activities on behalf of Iran over the past three years.
