Israeli actress Gal Gadot, known for her role as “Wonder Woman,” cast her ballot in the Knesset elections held today and said in a video: “I will vote for change.”
Gadot urged Israelis to go out and exercise their “most basic, important and democratic right” by voting for those they believe in. She expressed hope that election day would be a good day for everyone.
Election described as a referendum on Netanyahu
The election, the first since the October 7, 2023, attack, is being held amid record turnout. The voting rate reached 55.7% by 4 p.m. in an election seen as a referendum on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remaining in power, while opinion polls show his rival, former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, leading.
In previous elections, Gadot urged her followers to participate in voting. Her pro-Israel positions during the war in Gaza also drew widespread criticism.
