A high criminal court in Istanbul has made a historic decision to seek an international arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the Sumud Fleet case, the court ruled to request a red notice for Netanyahu.

The court is trying Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and other defendants on charges of 'crimes against humanity,' 'genocide,' 'damage to property,' 'aggravated looting,' 'intentional injury,' 'torture,' 'obstructing the movement of vehicles,' 'abduction or detention,' and 'deprivation of liberty.' A public lawsuit has been filed regarding these charges.
The red notice decision will first be conveyed to the Interpol General Secretariat via Turkey's Ministry of Justice and the Interpol-Europol Department. If Interpol approves the request, Netanyahu would risk arrest and extradition to Turkey if he travels to countries that are part of the red notice system or have extradition treaties with Turkey.
