Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry said air defenses on Wednesday, Oct. 21, intercepted a drone aimed at a processing plant at Saudi Aramco's Shaybah oilfield in the Eastern Province.
According to the ministry, falling debris started a fire in a contractor's vehicle outside the plant's perimeter. A Filipino and a Nepali citizen were killed, and a Pakistani and an Indian were injured. The ministry said the incident had no impact on operations at the field.

Houthis suspected
The ministry did not say who launched the drone, but media reports said the Yemen-based Houthis, who have stepped up attacks on Saudi Arabia including on civilian airports and critical infrastructure, are suspected.
The US State Department ordered non-emergency government employees and their families to leave Saudi Arabia, citing increased Houthi attacks. Videos circulating online purporting to show a large fire in the field's storage tanks could not be verified and contradict the Energy Ministry's account.
