Most of an Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy vessel off Bandar Abbas is underwater. A US missile may have struck the vessel, which then burned completely.
The vessel’s hull had been converted from a commercial ship, and all sections outside the living quarters were seen underwater. Anti-aircraft systems were visible in the parts remaining above water.
The lifeboats prepared for evacuating the crew were rendered unusable after the attack. The wreckage, which has not yet been removed, could sink completely and may pose a hazard to maritime traffic in the area because the living quarters remain above water.
