Residents of Brighton, on England’s south coast, staged a march in solidarity with the Palestinian people, with Palestinian flags flying along the route through the city.
A large banner reading “3 Years of Genocide, 78 Years of Occupation” led the march, referring to the third year of the Gaza war that began in October 2023 and to the 1948 Nakba. Marchers passed the University of Brighton building.
Protests continue across Britain
The march is part of a series of demonstrations held in British cities around the third anniversary of the war. London’s Metropolitan Police said 11 people were arrested on Oct. 8 during pro-Palestinian student marches and counter-protests.
