Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called on Jews in France to move to Israel in a speech at a conference of the French Jewish community in the city of Netanya.
Addressing the conference, attended by hundreds of people, the far-right Jewish Power party said in a statement that Ben-Gvir told Jews in France: "Come home, come here. This is your home and homeland."
Criticism of the French government
Ben-Gvir claimed that various groups in France wanted to harm Israel. He said the French government should reassess its policies and review its approach toward those seeking to expand their influence within the country.
Arguing that Europe and the world should take action in response to developments concerning Israel, Ben-Gvir called on the French government and Europe to reassess their approaches toward Israel.

France recognized the Palestinian state in September 2025 and, in the same month, announced a ban, together with some Western countries, on importing products from and trading with Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Protests in France
Demonstrations were held in several French cities on Saturday against the cost of living and rising fuel prices. Some protests involved violence and looting.
France’s Jewish population is estimated to exceed 450,000.
