Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to take urgent action against attacks by Israeli settlers targeting Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank.
In a written statement, the ministry said the escalation of systematic and violent attacks was a clear violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
The statement argued that the attacks showed that serious crimes allegedly committed against the Palestinian people were continuing.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs argued that the Israeli government had created conditions enabling settlers, who are protected by the Israeli army and security forces, to intensify their attacks.
Doha called on the international community to take immediate measures to protect the Palestinian people and ensure that those responsible for the attacks are held accountable.
The ministry also stressed that Qatar’s position on the Palestinian issue had not changed. The statement noted that Qatar continued to support protecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establishing an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
