Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, Qatar's minister of state and president of the Qatar National Library, said Türkiye's Ottoman heritage has given it a wealth of historical manuscripts not found in the same density elsewhere. In an interview at the library in Doha, he highlighted Türkiye's important place in the Islamic world.
Al-Kuwari said cooperation between the two countries' libraries continues under a memorandum signed on Oct. 18, 2021, and that Turkish institutions have donated 400 books to Qatar. He said contacts continue with the Presidential Library in Ankara and with libraries and cultural institutions in Istanbul.

Describing Istanbul as one of the world's leading cultural centers, Al-Kuwari stressed the importance of stronger cooperation in preserving manuscripts, archives and historical documents.
