Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry announced on Saturday that five citizens convicted of terrorism offenses were executed in the Eastern Province.
According to the ministry’s statement, the charges included joining a foreign terrorist organization, firing at security personnel and security vehicles with intent to kill, possessing weapons and live ammunition, and supporting the financing of terrorist operations inside the kingdom.

Final ruling and royal order
The ministry said the defendants were referred to the competent court, which sentenced them to death under ta’zir, or discretionary punishment. The ruling became final after it was appealed and upheld by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was then issued to carry it out.
In its statement, the ministry stressed the kingdom’s commitment to maintaining security and achieving justice, and warned anyone contemplating similar acts.
