During the royal reception following Spain's 2026 World Cup victory, Princess Leonor's exchange with footballer Ferran Torres caught attention. Princess Leonor asked Torres, who was among the champion players hosted by King Felipe VI and his family at Zarzuela Palace, 'Didn't you say you'd shave your head?'
Barcelona forward Ferran Torres responded with a firm 'No, no.' Princess Leonor's sister Sofia reportedly couldn't hold back her laughter at the reply. Spanish newspaper Marca noted that the princess's question demonstrated she closely follows even the smallest details about the national team and the players' personal pledges.
Other players' promises
Ferran Torres was not the only one who promised to shave his head if Spain won the championship. His teammates Marc Cucurella, Alex Baena, Borja Iglesias and Yeremi Pino had announced they would tattoo coach Luis de la Fuente's face on their bodies.
Young star Lamine Yamal announced he would not shave his beard and mustache for three weeks and would also gift 100 Beats headphones to his followers. Gavi and Pedri also said they would dye their hair in very striking colors.
