As economic ties between Damascus and Riyadh expand, Syria’s Ministry of Energy and Saudi information technology company Kashn signed a strategic partnership agreement covering the petroleum products sector.
The agreement, signed Sunday at the Ministry of Energy building in Damascus, provides for the development of an integrated nationwide digital platform for trading and managing petroleum products. A project company to be established for this purpose will oversee the system’s development and operation.
Areas covered by the platform
The planned digital system will include regulatory and supervisory authorities, fuel station operators, transportation and distribution companies, and tankers.
The platform will also cover the storage of petroleum products and related manufacturing processes. The aim is to manage these processes through the system all the way to final consumers, including businesses and individuals.
Kashn’s technology solutions
Saudi company Kashn provides technology solutions for managing fuel stations. Its activities include pump and payment management, as well as inventory tracking.
The agreement was signed as economic cooperation between Damascus and Riyadh expanded into different areas. Since the beginning of 2026, investment packages and joint memorandums of understanding have been discussed in the infrastructure, aviation, communications, water and real estate development sectors.
