U.S. President Donald Trump spoke to Fox News about Iran’s nuclear program, its retaliatory actions in the Gulf region and the economic pressure imposed by the United States.
Assessing the war that began with U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, Trump said Tehran’s retaliation against countries in the Gulf region had surprised everyone, including him. He also reiterated his pledge that Iran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
Trump claimed Iran could use nuclear weapons
Assessing Iran’s attacks against countries in the Gulf region, Trump argued that Tehran could also use nuclear weapons if it possessed them.
Trump claimed that such a situation would destroy the Middle East and Israel, while Europe and the United States would be the next targets. He said Israel would be destroyed if he were not president of the United States and that the Middle East might also be unable to survive.
Trump argued that economic pressure had produced results
Trump said the U.S. naval blockade and economic pressure on Iran were working. He described Iran as “a country in collapse” and reiterated that assessment.
