The coalition supporting Yemen's legitimate government announced that it had destroyed five unmanned aerial vehicles allegedly directed at Saudi Arabia by the Houthis.
Coalition forces spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said in a statement on Wednesday morning that a drone advancing toward the Eastern Province had been intercepted and subsequently destroyed.
According to figures released earlier the same day by the coalition, four more drones sent toward Medina and the Eastern Province were intercepted and destroyed. This brought to five the total number of drones said to have been heading toward Saudi Arabia and destroyed.
The Houthis had made no statement on the attacks as of 5:20 a.m.
Platform used to launch missile at Riyadh also destroyed
The coalition announced on Tuesday evening that it had also destroyed a platform used by the Houthis to launch a ballistic missile at Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The Houthis' military attacks against Saudi Arabia have continued since July 2026, when fighting between government forces and the group intensified in Yemen.
Airports and military sites targeted
Attacks carried out throughout October targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, airports in Abha, Jizan, Najran and Dammam, as well as oil facilities and military sites.
Saudi Arabia has led the military coalition supporting Yemen's government since March 2015. The Houthis have controlled the capital, Sana'a, and some provinces since September 2014 and are accused of receiving support from Iran.
