U.S. President Donald Trump called for Iran’s leadership to face trial in a post on his Truth Social account on Monday.
Trump said Iran’s leadership should face trial for crimes against humanity and formally described the country as a failed state. He argued that Iran’s leadership was in complete disarray.
Trump claimed that Iran had no navy, air force or currency, and alleged that what remained in the country was fake news in the United States and a desire to kill protesters.
Trump also claimed that more than 100,000 demonstrators had been killed in protests in Iran. The figure has not been independently verified.
