The Turkish Red Crescent has provided a total of $150,000 in cash support to 300 kidney failure patients receiving dialysis in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital. The $500 paid to each patient will help cover dialysis costs as well as transport and medicine.
The support is for patients at the dialysis center of the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital. The project is planned to run for three months, bringing total support to $450,000, with patients receiving up to 10 free dialysis sessions a month.

Founded in 2015 with 52 dialysis machines, the center is Somalia's largest. It has carried out 250,000 dialysis sessions and served 40,000 Somali patients since it opened.
