Türkiye, Qatar, Pakistan and Indonesia signed the Badr memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the defence industries in Doha, the Qatari capital. Türkiye's Defence Minister Yaşar Güler and President of the Defence Industries Agency Haluk Görgün signed the memorandum on behalf of Türkiye.
The memorandum provides for joint projects among the four countries in the fields of joint production, technology transfer, research and development, and technical military training. The projects will be implemented through an executive council that will identify joint projects and a strategic council that will set their timetable and approve them.

Following the signing ceremony, Görgün met Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and his accompanying delegation. Görgün said the meeting addressed Turkish-Qatari relations, which are based on historical ties and a shared security vision. He added that both sides expressed their desire to deepen their existing cooperation in the defence industries.
The name “Badr” means the full moon and symbolizes the meeting of the four countries' complementary capabilities on a common foundation of cooperation.
