Türkiye's ambassador to Djibouti, Hüseyin Özdemir, paid a courtesy visit to Djibouti's Interior Minister and Acting Defense Minister, Omar Abdi Said. He was accompanied by the embassy's internal affairs adviser, Colonel Koray Soyer, the Turkish Embassy announced through its social media accounts.

The meeting addressed ongoing cooperation between Türkiye and Djibouti in security and civil defense, as well as ways to develop it. Djibouti, which overlooks the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, holds a strategic position in the Horn of Africa, while Türkiye continues to strengthen its presence in the region through development and cooperation projects. Ambassador Özdemir had participated days earlier in the opening of a project implemented in the country by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, TİKA.
