At the Arab League ministerial meeting that concluded in Cairo, the international community was urged to take immediate action to protect Palestinians from Israeli attacks and violence in the occupied territories.
Foreign ministers of Arab countries rejected all attempts to forcibly remove Palestinians from their land. The decisions were adopted at the end of the meeting.
Support for the Arab-Islamic plan for Gaza
The ministers called for political, financial and legal support for the Arab-Islamic plan prepared to help Gaza recover and rebuild. They also backed holding an international conference in Cairo to secure financing for the plan.
The decisions called on international organizations, particularly the United Nations and the Security Council, to fulfill their responsibilities to protect Palestinians.
All stages of the ceasefire must be implemented
The Arab ministers called for the full implementation of all stages of the Gaza ceasefire agreement reached at the peace summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh in 2025. The call also demanded an end to Israeli attacks and the start of Gaza’s reconstruction.
The decisions also categorically rejected the forced displacement of Palestinians and attempts to alter the demographic composition of the occupied Palestinian territories. The practice described by Israel as “voluntary migration” was considered within this framework.
The ministers said that forced displacement would constitute ethnic cleansing and a serious violation of international law.
Heavy humanitarian toll in Gaza
The decisions condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide, starvation, siege, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
More than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 174,000 injured in the war in Gaza. The attacks have destroyed or damaged a large part of the civilian infrastructure in the region.
