A Jewish woman who identifies herself as Rachel posted a video on her Instagram account in which she addressed Jews around the world and urged them to speak out against what she described as Israel starving Palestinians in the Gaza Strip once again.
She said in the video: "The state that calls itself Jewish, the devilish state of Israel, has once again begun starving the Palestinian people, a people that has been besieged for many years in an open-air prison camp and has lived under brutal occupation for 80 years."
She added: "These people are starving again. Children are starving, infants are starving, and there is no way to bring in food or aid."
Addressing Jews, she said that those who have not yet spoken out against Israel or described its actions as genocide should not speak to her about the Holocaust.
Warnings of a new famine
Her message comes as warnings grow that famine is returning to Gaza after aid shipments to the enclave stopped for six consecutive days when Israel closed the crossings. The halt caused shortages of eggs, flour and onions, as well as a sharp rise in prices.
The World Food Programme announced that it was reducing its monthly food assistance from 1.6 million to 1.1 million people because of a funding shortfall, leaving around 500,000 people without support. It also cut the number of hot meals served each day from 250,000 to 150,000.
Most commercial bakeries in Gaza have closed after shipments of wheat flour were barred from entering, despite Israel's commitment under the October 2025 ceasefire agreement to allow at least 600 aid trucks into Gaza each day.
