Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met on the final day of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the two-day summit, Sisi said Iran should make every possible effort to end regional tensions. The Egyptian president called for a comprehensive, lasting and peaceful solution to the crisis.
Emphasis on sovereignty for a solution
Sisi reiterated Egypt’s strong support for initiatives aimed at restoring stability in the region. He said such a solution must preserve the sovereignty of regional countries and safeguard their peoples and resources.
