In a new legal step to pursue those accused of crimes in Gaza, the Hind Rajab Foundation asked the US Justice Department on Oct. 19 to investigate, arrest and prosecute Israeli army commander Sean Glass, saying he is currently in the United States.

According to the foundation, Glass led the unit it accuses of firing in January 2024 on the car carrying young Hind Rajab and her relatives in Gaza, and he most likely gave the order to shoot. The foundation cites US laws on war crimes and genocide.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib called on US authorities to arrest and investigate Glass, while the Justice Department has not commented.
