Iran has lodged an official complaint with the United Nations over the military operations conducted by the United States. The Tehran administration asserted that these attacks clearly violated the fundamental texts of international law.
Iran's Permanent Mission to the UN sent separate written submissions to the President of the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General on the matter. The letters stated that the Washington administration had severely violated the United Nations Charter and its international obligations.
According to Iran's claim, the large-scale military attacks launched by the US were carried out against Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Tehran stated that these actions constituted a clear violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter, which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity and political independence of states.
Furthermore, the letters sent by Iran stated that the attacks in question also fundamentally violated Article 1 of the Islamabad Memorandum. Through this diplomatic initiative, Iran called on the international community to take action against the US actions.
