An Iranian delegation has traveled to Switzerland for a new round of talks with the United States. The delegation arrived in Zurich to discuss the process following the ceasefire agreement signed between the US and Iran.
The delegation is accompanied by high-level officials such as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati, and Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Bagheri.
Delegation head Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated in a post on his social media account that he believes all activities of the Iranian delegation are being watched by the innocent schoolchildren of Minab and the martyrs of Iran.
The initial talks between Iran and the US were planned to take place on Friday at the Buergenstock mountain resort in Switzerland. However, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized on Saturday that the final negotiations with the US are conditional on the implementation of the five articles of the memorandum of understanding.
The spokesperson stated that the permanence of the agreement depends entirely on the other side's stance. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson explained that the planned visit to Switzerland on Friday was canceled because it lost its urgent necessity after Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump digitally signed the memorandum of understanding.
The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States was signed in the first minutes of June 18, 2026, by Pezeshkian and Trump through a simultaneous digital process, without a face-to-face ceremony.
