The Israeli army said it had completed a 48-hour operation in the city of Nablus and surrounding villages in the northern occupied West Bank, detaining more than 10 Palestinians.
According to the Israeli army, hundreds of sites were searched and dozens of Palestinians were questioned during the operation, which was directed by Israel's internal security service, publicly known as Shin Bet. The detainees were described by the army as “wanted individuals.”
The army also said it had destroyed more than 30 workshops that it alleged were used to produce weapons. The Israeli army said it had seized weapons, pistols and ammunition that it alleged had been hidden during the operation, but provided no details about the materials.
Raids continue in the West Bank
The operation in Nablus and its surroundings took place as the Israeli army continued its daily raids in the occupied West Bank. The raids include house searches and arrests, while attacks by settlers against Palestinians have also occurred.
These developments in the West Bank indicate that tensions in the area remain high as Israel's attacks on Gaza have continued since October 2023.
