In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers continue their attacks against Palestinian civilians. The attacks on homes and vehicles in villages south of Nablus further escalated tensions in the region.
According to Palestinian activist Bashar Qaryouti, groups of settlers moving in the area between the villages of Jalut and Telfit set fire to three parked vehicles, causing them to burn completely. An arson attempt on a building by the same group was thwarted by the intervention of village residents.
Repeated attacks on electricity infrastructure
Madama Village Council head Rami Nassar stated that another group of settlers coming from the illegal outpost between the towns of Beita and Tel damaged the pole to which the village's power line is connected. Nassar noted that a similar attack was the second in a week, adding that part of the electricity grid was disabled due to the damage, causing outages.
Violence across the West Bank
In Nablus, a Palestinian was injured by gunfire from Israeli soldiers, while reports indicated that the Israeli military deployed reinforcements with bulldozers and settlers were preparing to storm Joseph's Tomb.
Israeli forces raided the village of Tiyasir east of Tubas. Areas outside the village of al-Mughayyir, west of Ramallah, were also attacked by settlers.
According to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA, Israelis attacked a Palestinian vehicle on the road between al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah villages, beating two people with children inside. In the same area, two brothers were detained by the Israeli army while on their farm.
In the village of Abu Nujaym east of Bethlehem, settlers attacked elderly Palestinian Yahya Uleyyan, causing bruises on his body.
Major increase in attacks
Since October 2023, when Israel's attacks on Gaza began, there has been a serious increase in Israeli army and settler attacks in the West Bank. According to official Palestinian data, over 1,182 Palestinians have been killed, about 13,000 wounded, and 24,000 detained during this period.
Meanwhile, records from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) show that over 1,330 attacks and violent incidents have been carried out by settlers in the West Bank since the beginning of the year.
